Town of Golden Beach building permits

The Town’s online permitting form takes company name, qualifier, the last four digits of the contractor registration number, phone, e-mail, a permit-type drop-down and file uploads. But it is limited by design: “Permits that require large signed and sealed plans will not be permitted through the online permitting system and an appointment is needed for submittal to the department.” Every contractor must be registered with the Town, with a valid e-mail account and PDF software, and must confirm their registration is current before applying.

Uploaded with the online form, or brought to an appointment where the plans are large signed and sealed sets. The Town states a floor under everything: “All permits submitted require a permit application and a copy of the signed contract between the owner and contractor.”

Everything comes back by e-mail to the account on file, and the Town sets out the order: submitting returns a no-reply e-mail saying a representative will verify the information; an invoice for the initial processing fee follows by e-mail; once that is paid the application is routed to a plans examiner; and — the sentence that matters — “Should your application not receive an approval you will be sent comments to the email account on file for resubmittal of the corrected information required.” On approval, staff calculate the fees due, e-mail a second invoice, and once that payment posts the approved permit and backup documents arrive by e-mail.
