How a permit moves through City of West Miami
Where the application starts
Online portalThe City publishes downloadable permit PACKAGES by scope and links a Permit Portal running on CitizenServe. Each package opens with the same application, and its instruction is the one that gets submittals rejected: “This application must be completed and signed by both the property owner and qualifier. Both signatures must be notarized.” The application also carries a restrictive-covenant affirmation whose penalty the City prints in red — failure to disclose “shall result in the immediate revocation of any type of permit or certificate of use/occupancy”.

Status and corrections
Online portalThe portal offers, in its own words, “apply online, view review status, pay permit fees and schedule inspections”. It also carries a restriction the City prints in capitals at the top of the page, and it is the thing to read first: “WE ARE ONLY TAKING roofing, drive way, fences, and windows/doors permit submissions.” Anything else has to be arranged with the Building Department directly.
